The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

Katherine Anthony's Book!
The rules:
After you answer the questions, tag four other people.

My friend and author S. Katherine Anthony was kind enough to tag me for this blog hop. It's always an honor. Thank you, Katherine!

1-What is the working title of your book?
-   I don't have a title yet, for the project I'm working on.

2-Where did the idea come from for the book?
This book is actually about my husband's little  English sports car, Margaret. She is an MG. My husband has been wanting me to write about her, so I'd have to say that he gave me the idea. He's also my technical adviser for this story.

3-What genre does your book fall under?
     It's a children's story.

4-Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Well, since Margaret isn't a person, we might imagine that her story could be made into an animated movie. Perhaps we could have someone with a lovely English accent to be Margaret's voice. Perhaps we would want Kate Winslet.

5-What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Margaret's story is amusing, entertaining and inspiring. Of course, I'm looking ahead here, but this is my goal.

6-Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
-     My book will be self-published. I believe that's the best choice for me. I want to retain rights and ownership of my work.

7-How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Since I'm currently working on this story, I can't say exactly how long it will take, but it generally takes about a year from the time a begin to when my books are published.  This allows time for editing and illustrations to be completed. My sister, Holly Humphrys-Bajaj, does the illustrations for all of our books.

8-What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

I can't think of any at the moment. I'd like to make my stories unique.

9-Who or What inspired you to write this book?
As I mentioned, my husband encouraged me to write this story. It will be untested territory for me, because my other stories involve horses and other animals.

10-What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
The book is told from Margaret's point of view.   Hopefully, it will be unique because the main character is a car, but there will also be dogs involved in resolving the problems.

And now I'm tagging:

  2. Thanks for commenting, Sherry! Glad you enjoyed my answers. I'm also thinking of writing a sequel to Tails, told from Peach's point of view. Just an idea at this point.
