New book review for Wanda the Wandering Wand by Joe Borda

"Wanda the Wandering Wand" is a creative tale, about Wanda the wand who loses her witch, Gertrude.

Sawyer is a little boy who loves playing fetch with his dog, Luna. One day, while he is playing with his dog, Sawyer discovers a wand sticking up out of a tree stump. Wanda tries various spells on Sawyer and Luna, but she notices the spells are confused and puzzling things are happening. For example, Wanda intends to turn Luna into a feather, but the little dog becomes a giant dog, with feathered wings instead.

Lots of entertaining antics occur in ths story and the illustrations are cute and fitting. However, I thought the ending was abrupt, although it does peak the reader's curiosity. It doesn't show an outcome so I imagine there will be a sequel soon.

At the end of the book there are discussons that are good topics to encourage children to use their imagination.
