My review of "Daddy Donkey and his Little Son"

 

Daddy Donkey and his Little Son" is a cute story about a lion cub named Zozo and a donkey named Louie.

Louie goes to great lengths to help others. When he finds a baby lion alone, Louie cares for the baby, hoping the mother will return. But this doesn't happen early in the book, so Louie takes the baby to his home and tends to him. A strong bond develops between the two, and they feel like father and son.
Little Zozo gets into mischief at first, but Louie finds the antics amusing.
The story highlights love and acceptance, an important message for children. The illustrations are bright and engaging. I feel that very young children would not understand some of the vocabulary. But the book would benefit other children. In addition, there are activities at the end of the book that children will enjoy,
