Some hints for you...

It's time to share our insecurities or some hints we think will be helpful to you. Since I don't have any new insecurities, I"ll offer some ideas for combating stress.

  • Make a plan to accomplish something every day related to your writing. Be sure your plan is realistic so you can meet your goals. If you set impossible goals, you'll only make disappointment more likely.
  • If you have a day when everything goes haywire, take a break. Do something to lift your spirits. Connect with close friends or go out to lunch with some of your friends. Do something that would be fun.
  • Join a critique group to help spot some areas of your work that need improvement. I did that and it's quite helpful. Remember the story is still yours. If you don't agree with the revisions you don't have to implement them.
  • Surround yourself with positive people. Those who are always negative are not helpful to you. They only depress your spirits and motivation.
I hope these hints are helpful to you. Best wishes to all of you.
