New 5-star reveiw from Literary Titan Reviews for The Adventures of Cocoa and Cream-Remarkable Twin Ponies

"Dive into the enchanting world of The Adventures of Cocoa and Cream - Remarkable Twin Ponies by Deanie Humphrys-Dunne. This heartwarming tale follows the captivating journey of two five-year-old ponies. This charming story centers around the endearing relationship between these ponies and the children and visitors who adore them. When Dee and Nancee, two spirited young girls, cross paths with the ponies, an instant and unbreakable bond forms. Together, they embark on a thrilling adventure, discovering their forever home and eagerly anticipating the myriad of exciting escapades that lie ahead.

Narrated from both the perspective of the ponies and the children, the narrative beautifully captures the dynamics of their interactions. A delightful and breezy read, the book delves into the significance of collaboration, creative problem-solving, and the joy of venturing into uncharted territories. Deanie Humphrys-Dunne skillfully weaves a tale that radiates positivity and family values, making it not only an enjoyable experience for reading to children but also a source of personal delight.

As an amateur equestrian, I found this narrative particularly relatable, as it echoes my early experiences of bonding with animals and learning to ride horses. The author's adept storytelling paints a vivid picture, evoking a sense of nostalgia through charming illustrations and an atmosphere brimming with heartfelt emotions. It's a literary gem that effortlessly evokes cherished memories for adults while simultaneously igniting a newfound fascination with horses in young readers.

This book is a fantastic addition to home and school libraries, perfect for school-aged children. The Adventures of Cocoa and Cream - Remarkable Twin Ponies offers a delightful tale that resonates with themes of unity, appreciation for animals, and the joys of exploration. Whether your child is yet to mount a horse or has already begun their equestrian journey, this story is captivating. It encourages a love for reading and cultivates essential reading skills from an early age. I recommend this pony-filled adventure to parents, teachers, and caregivers, as it embodies the magic of companionship, discovery, and the unbreakable bond between humans and animals."

A lovely story for children who love ponies and horses and enjoy learning more about them. The author created a story about twin ponies who are adorable, delightful and intelligent.

The story is about how these twin ponies, Cream and Coca, come to live with two sisters and their parents who run a riding school to help children with problems or disabilities to overcome them and gain confidence in themselves.

The author’s experience and knowledge of horses and ponies is evident in the way she tells the tale of these animals and how they are groomed and fed.

The illustrations are beautifully done and a perfect addition to the story. The author has created another entertaining book to add to her expanding library for children.

Who doesn’t like ponies, much less stories about these small horses? It’s the unusual child, indeed, who can’t remember being taken to the park or, perhaps, a fair or carnival, placed on the back of one of these gentle creatures, and then, walked around the ring while mom and dad waved and took pictures of the event. Memories like these stay with us forever.

Which is why children will love the new book by Deanie Humphrys-Dunne. It tells the story of twin ponies Cocoa and Cream who come to live with Mr. and Mrs. Ryder and their daughters, Dee and Nancee. Nancee, it turns out, was the victim of an automobile accident, so riding a pony is somewhat difficult for her. That said, learning to ride also is important to her recovery, which is one of the most important lessons of the book: learning to ride and take care of ponies is great therapy for children of all ages (and not too few adults, I might add). This lesson is driven home even more when the riding school run by Mr. and Mrs. Ryder help other students gain confidence in themselves.

Children who are “into” horses and ponies will love the use of terms associated with the care, feeding, training, and showing of these animals. Who knew, for example, that ponies have their legs wrapped to protect them when they are transported by trailer? Or that horses at shows with red ribbons on their tails kick out when you’re too close to them?

This is truly a lovely book for children who love animals. It’s one they will read many times because of both the story and the information it contains.

Finally, a tip-of-the-hat to the illustrator, Mirjana Bubevska, for some of the most charming illustrations I’ve seen anywhere.
