Insecure Writer's Support Group

On the first Wednesday of the month, we share our thoughts about our insecurities as writers and we answer a question. This month the question is: "Have you ever quit on writing and what made you come back?"

A long time ago, I took a writing course that really made me feel discouraged. The teacher never gave me compliments on what he thought I did well so it ruined my confidence in my skills as a writer. I never finished the course, but eventually I signed up for a different course to write for children. This experience was much more positive and I completed two of them. I learned a great deal.
Still farther down the road, I expected to have a job doing medical coding, but instead, I had an intuition to publish my first book. My sister agreed to illustrate it so my writing career was launched.
I encourage all of you to persevere and follow your passions. If writing is what you love, pursue it. You could surprise yourself with what you accomplish. I did. :)
Be sure to stop by AlexJCavanaugh.blogspot.com to see what everyone is sharing this month.
