Insecure Writer's Support Group..

Whenever it's the first Wednesday of the month, we authors have a chance to talk about whatever is making us feel insecure. Be sure to stop by AlexJCavanagh.blogspot.com to find out what everyone has to say.

If you've been following my blog, you know new things always make me a bit uneasy. The little doubt creep into my head. Can I do this? Where do I start? That's how I feel at the moment because I'm working on my first picture book. My sister, Holly will be designing the cover and doing the illustrations. Even she is a bit unsure because she won't be drawing horses or other animals. The star of the story is a tractor! I know, I'm surprised too. But I got an idea for a cute story so we'll hope for the best. We're not sure what the time frame is. My sister has lots going on so we'll have to be patient. But I'll give you updates when we have news.
What are you fretting about this month? Hope all your insecurities are tiny.
I'm sorry I forgot to check the question of the month. I guess the first story I wrote in writing school was one about a family of rabbits. It never went anywhere, which could be a good thing. D

Insecure writer's Support Group...

Hi everyone,
Since it's the first Wednesday of the month we blog about things we get frazzled about. Remember to stop by AlexJCavanaugh.blogspot.com to catch up with what everyone has to say.
This week I edited a book for a friend. It was my first experience with editing something that was not my work. I think my suggestions were well received, but waiting for the final verdict on that. As usual, it was a new experience and those things always make me feel uncertain.
What are you insecure about this month? Whatever your fears are, I hope you conquer them.
I just read Julie Flanders' blog with the new question of the month feature. In answer to the question of what's the best thing that's been said about your writing, I'd say I love when young readers tell me one of my books is their favorite and they've brought it to school to share with their friends.

Today I'm insecure about.....

Since it's the first Wednesday of the month, we all lament about our insecurities. Be sure to stop by AlexCavanaugh.blogspot.com to read everyone's thoughts on their insecurities this month. Here's my scary stuff for this month:

  • I have a couple of new experiences coming up. New things always unravel me a little. But I'm doing my best to face the silly fears like meeting new people or trying new things.
  • Still editing my book, but making some slow progress with it, thanks to the ladies in the writer's group to which I belong.
  • One of my new experiences was entering my first essay contest at TheAuthorsShow.com. Finalists will be announced next week. Iv'e listed the link as one of the labels, should you want to check it out.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope all your insecurities are easy to conquer.

New adventures, new insecurities!

On the first Wednesday of the month, we write about whatever makes us feel apprehensive. Thank you Alex Cavanaugh, for starting this group! Be sure to stop by AlexJCavanaugh,blogspot.com to see what's happening with everyone in the group this month.

Those of you who know me well may already realize that new experiences always bring out my insecurities. On February 27 between 2-4 PM, I'll be participating in my first author takeover when I join author Ann Hunter's Facebook launch for her new book, Born to Run. I'll be asking questions and playing games related to my new book, Charlene the Star and Bentley Bulldog. Other equestrian authors will be talking about their books as well. I"m trying to expand my horizons a little, even when I'm nervous about it. That's how we gain new skills and confidence. If any of you would like to stop by on that day, I'd love to see you. If you'd like more information on Ann's event, you can find it here;
