What if you're not sure?

If you're anything like me, there's so much you're not sure about. What if you're not sure you can find  a new store? What if you're not sure you can write a story? How do you know whether you have the talent to do it? The only way I know to stop all of these doubts from dancing around in your head is to try. You'll be surprised what happens when you actually start your story. I think the hardest part of the whole project is sitting down and WRITING! At first, you may not like the result, but that's why we can edit things. The finished product rarely looks like it does when you've just begun. Isn't it wonderful that we can change those things? Remember that one of the biggest motivators we have is our dreams. The only way we can realize them is to work toward them. I've become a fan of some of Teddy Roosevelt's philosophies. It might be a good idea to keep this in mind next time you're struggling with weather or not you can accomplish something: In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.

  1. The only way to fail is to not bother trying. Even if you try and fail, it's better than not trying at all.
You're right though, the hardest part is sitting down and actually starting!

  2. The biggest contributor to failure is fear. You are right, it doesn't take much more than to try... If you don't try, you don't know. Great post :)

  4. Thanks, Sherry, it's the only way to succeed. You have to take the first step. After that, all kinds of good things can happen.

For me editing... over editing...avoiding over editing is the most difficult. Letting go is hard.

    1. Hi J. Lenni, Thanks for stopping by my blog. I agree editing is hard because it's so easy to chop too much or too little. But it's part of the process and it you're happy with the end result, you've done it well.
      Best wishes

  6. Super advice! Sometimes you just have to start writing. Sometimes it'll just be nonsense, but you have to write it. In the midst of writing nonsense, good ideas are bound to spring up!
