What if?

Let's imagine you have a big dream. You want to become a published author. But how could you find the time between your job, your children, etc. Remember, we all have obstacles that can derail us if we allow it to happen. Instead, remind yourself there is always a way. I've told myself that my whole life. For example, I wanted to become a champion horseback rider, even after doctors told my parents I'd never walk. But my dad wouldn't accept that. He told me not to listen to what the doctor said. Together, we found a way to persevere. What if you're afraid of failure? So am I. Example:When I learned to ride, most days I learned how to fall off and get up again. Did I like that? Not at all. I asked my dad," Daddy why do I always fall off?" He responded,"That's how you learn to stay on." Boy, was a wishing for another way. But eventually, I managed to stay on the horse more and more often. What if I had given up? Then fears and doubts would have won. But instead, perseverance brought me many victories, both small and large. Failures can stiffen your resolve and that's a good thing.
What if you feel like you''re the only person on the planet who has issues like no time to write, or you're tired after a hard day at work?  Maybe you need to take your children to a soccer game. You can jot down a few notes for your blog or your book while you're at the game. Again, there is always a solution.
I loved competing in horse shows, but it was difficult to find the time because I was busy teaching riding to our students every day. My dad coached me so we had to work out a schedule to practice. sometimes I'd give up my lunch hour so we could practice for an upcoming show. Remember, there's always a solution.
Finally, I'd say whatever you dream about, go after it. Set priorities. My parents always said, "You can do anything you want if you put your mind to it." Don't you think that's excellent advice? Find your passion and develop it. It's worth the effort, in my view.

  2. It's definitely worth it. My favorite motto is: If you believe, all things are possible.

    1. I agree, Lori. When we reach our goals, it's always worth the effort. When we work very hard for something, the big reward is accomplishing what we started out to do. :)
