Book Review for Takema and Fennec Fox by Angela Castillo

"Takema and Fennec Fox" is a beautifully illustrated children's book. In the story, you'll meet a young gril named Takema who loves spending time with her animal friends.  One of her friends was a bird named SandGrouse, who wanted everyone to know she felt that she was the faster than any other bird in the dessert. Jerboa was upset that Jackal stepped on his tail. All of the animals seemed to be able  to express their opinions except for Fennec Fox. He mentioned that some of his friends tease him about his big ears. But when Fennec Fox speaks no one listens until one day Fennec Fox senses danger. He tells Takema abut his fear and Takema urges the fox to be brave. Finally, used his loudest voice and forced his friends to pay attention. He was the hero and his friends appreciated his efforts.

Preschool and elementary children will see why it's important to speak up when you feel something is wrong.

There are also interesting facts about the animal characters in the back of the book.

I recommend this book.
