My Review of the Candy Cane Fiasco by Rachel Hilz

 

“The Candy Cane Fiasco” is a cute, amusing tale of a little girl who gets a candy cane from Grandma and that starts a chain of sticky catastrophies. When the little girl eats the candy cane, it creates a sticky mess. A cat, a Chiristmas Tree, and even, Santa get stuck together. The illustrations are engaging and entertaining. At first, grandma doesnn’t have a solution to the situation. She thinks Santa can help when he comes on Christmas Eve.But he arrives and has no idea what to do. In fact, he gets stuck as well. And in the end, everyone in the family gets a special surprise, courtesy of Santa himself. I believe very young children will enjoy this silly tale.
I would have enjoyed it even more if everyone in the famly had names and each of them helped solve the problem.

Review of Lu, the Little Lady Bug That was Afraid to Fly

 

I thought Lu, the Little Lady bug That was Afraid to Fly was an adorable tale. 

Here is my review of this endearing children's tale.

"Lu, the Little Lady Bug That was Afraid to Fly" is an adorable story for little ones. Lu, is timid and very fearful of flying. Instead, she loves sitting on her favorite daisy. Lu meets Mr. Caterpillar who hopes he can push her high enough into the sky. But when that doesn't work, he brings strong ants, who try lifiting her into the air. Mrs. Spider comeas along and offers another creative idea to help her fly. Lu is brave enought to try each of the methods suggested by her new friends. Finally, Mrs. Butterfly has the best idea of all and Lu opens her wings! it's a beautifully illustrated story with a great message for children. I recommend it highly.

Book review: Where Can we Have the Party? by Deb Hockenberry

 

I loved this book by Deb Hockenberry. It’s twenty pages of fun and learning. The animal friends want to have a party for Chimpanzee. Everyone makes a suggestion for the perfect place to hold the big event. Elephant thinks the party should be in his favorite place, the river, but the birthday boy, Chimpanzee doesn’t like water. Snake has an idea, too,but the place he likes is too small. This is a delightful book little children will adore.Not only is the story fun and educational, but the cute, colorful, illustrations are wonderful. Children will want to read this book over and over. It’s sure to keep them engaged and smiling. Congratulations,Deb on a job well done. No doubt your first book will be a huge success.
