State flower and Bird of CT

Some of you know I'm fron Connecticut so I thought it would be nice to show your our state flower. Isn't it beautiful?
These lovely flowers bloom in thelatter part spring and early summer.  Does it remind you of another flower? If so, it is related to the Rhododendron and Azelea.  What are some other interesting facts about these flowers?  Mountain Laurel are toxic for deer.

The State Bird of CT in the American Robin.  We admire these handsome little birds flying around  the  yard. They always remind me of spring time, a lovely season.
