My Life at Sweetbrier is about a young girl diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The doctors told her parents she would never walk. Little did the doctors know about Deanie's father's determination, and he told the doctor where he could go with that opinion. I like that line in the book. My Life at Sweetbrier is filled with Love, Determination, Strength, and Perseverance. A loving family's purpose of helping their baby to overcome her obstacles and reach for the stars. Which she did!!! She not only walked, but she learned to ride horses. And Deanie became a Champion!! I loved the sheer fortitude and "never give up attitude" of Deanie and her wonderful family...

I loved My Life at Sweetbrier!! And I highly recommend this sweet book!

As you may know, every first Wednesday of the month, we write about our insecurities and answer a question from Alex. J. Cavanaugh  and his blogging partners. Be sure to stop by AlexJCavanaugh.com and see what everyone has to say this month.

The question this month is: What's the weirdest/coolest thing you ever had to research?

Here's my answer to the question:

When I was a student with the Institute of Children's Literature, I chose to write about George Washington. It was fun to learn little trivia that most people may not know. For example, did you know George always had trouble with spelling? He couldn't remember if cough should be cough or coff. Also, he loved good manners and he wrote several books on the subject. I had fun studying about the things George liked and disliked.
This month my insecurities have to do with editing. I've spent a lot of time editing my new book and still, I don't feel confident about it. Thankfully, my publisher, Gina McKnight of Monday Creek Publishing, was helpful.  I think no matter how much time you spend on writing, there is always more to learn.I remember thinking the same about horseback riding :)
